The last cross-country ski race of the Volvo Eastern Cup series was a rare chance for juniors and masters, college skiers and coaches to race against each other. Saturday's wave starts in the 10km freestyle races pitted teenagers against fifty year olds - and the oldsters held their own. Sunday's 10km classic race with a pursuit start was a chance for the youngsters to chase down their competition - and in the women's race they did.

Although the overall positions in the women's race did not change - Amy Caldwell of Stratton Mtn. School (VT), Tracy Theyerl of Waterville, ME/Maine Nordic Ski Club and Leslie Krichko of Ridgefield,CT / Putney Ski Club held onto first, second and third - Junior skiers Kelsey Allen (New England Nordic) and Abbie Harris (Craftsbury, VT) raced the fifth and seventh fastest times of the day to finish seventh and tenth overall.

Dave Stewart (VT) and Pat Cote, Gould Academy (ME) fought their way around the entire course for the overall men's title, and Cote finished within 2 seconds of Stewart, for a two-day combined time of 59:57.1 to 59:59.0. Third place overall went to Brayton Osgood, Putney Ski Club.

The prizes of maple syrup, ski poles, hats, and chocolate cakes were awarded based based on overall, as well as age-group performances. The age-group adjusted results, total times for the Saturday and Sunday races, follow below.
